Over 30 Killed In A Wedding Convoy Attack In Borno

More than 30 people have been killed in an attack by gunmen on a wedding convoy in Borno State, Northern Nigeria.

The attack occurred on the long stretch of the Bama-Banki Road, east of Maiduguri.

The groom was reportedly among the victims, while the fate of the bride and her family members is unknown.

The convoy was returning to Maiduguri after the wedding ceremony when the gunmen attacked.

“All the victims were brutally murdered by the attackers. Many of  them appeared to have suffered gunshot wounds,” an eyewitness said.

Gunmen believed to be members of Boko Haram have been terrorising North-east Nigeria. The group have claimed to be responsible for most attacks.
